They burst into action by Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurant owners in the Middle and Upper Garda region, offering subscriptions to military-related magazines.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or municipal police.

Recognizing the scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or publications that have nothing to do with law enforcement agencies.
