An episode of domestic violence has ended with the arrest of a 51-year-old man of Indian origin, residing in Castiglione delle Stiviere, after years of mistreatment towards his wife and child. Investigations carried out by the carabinieri uncovered a long history of abuse, which began before the marriage and continued until October 2023, despite the family’s frequent relocations between Montichiari, Desenzano del Garda, and Cremona. The woman finally found the courage to report the physical assaults and threats she endured, allowing law enforcement to intervene.
Thanks to her report, the victim and the child were transferred to a protected facility to ensure their safety. The case reached the courts, where the evidence collected led to the conviction of the 51-year-old for domestic abuse and his subsequent arrest. This event highlights the importance of breaking the silence surrounding domestic violence, giving a voice to those who find themselves in similar situations.
