As of yesterday, Friday, August 1st, the Municipality of Castiglione delle Stiviere has implemented a parking ban for cars in Piazza Dallò on weekends. This decision was made in response to the significant evening crowds in the area, encouraged by the presence of establishments overlooking the square. Mayor Enrico Volpi emphasized the importance of ensuring pedestrian safety and public well-being.
The Councillor for Productive Activities, Giovanni Grasso, explained that the measure prohibits parking from 7:00 PM to 1:00 AM on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings, a measure already trialed last year. This initiative was agreed upon with the Commerce Commission and local business owners, aiming to make Piazza Dallò a more livable and communal space for both residents and visitors during peak times.
