Castiglione Mayor Faces Challenges in Replacing Resigned Ecology Councillor

Things continue to be quite complicated in the political situation in Castiglione delle Stiviere, as Mayor Sigurtà faces the decision of replacing Ecology Councillor David Beruffi, who resigned a few days ago.

The mayor himself has called upon prominent figures from Castiglione Domani and asked them to take on the role of councillor.

For now, however, none of those approached (Belluzzi, Novazzi, and Mattioli) have accepted the invitation, and the mayor finds the decision to be quite difficult.

Communications and agenda items

In the latest developments, it has been announced that in the coming days, the management board of the same relative majority list of Castiglione, namely Castiglione Domani, will hold a press conference to address the current issues regarding the municipal administration of Castiglione.

It appears that the two main topics to be discussed are the Pirossina landfill and regional appeal, and the rubber shredding plant in Gozzolina, another topic that could inflame the council meeting.

Replacement of Councillor Beruffi

Turning back to the replacement of Councillor Beruffi, it seems certain that neither Belluzzi, Novazzi, nor Mattioli will succeed him.

Even the predicted candidate Martinetti no longer appears to be the front-runner for the position of Councillor for productive activities and ecology.

In any case, the decision is not expected to be made this week but rather next week.

Most likely, the new councillor will not be one of the current councilors: Castiglione Domani has no intention of upsetting the current balances within the group of six councilors that make up their parliamentary group.
