Castiglione Presents Key Local Issues to Deputy Bruno Tabacci
A report highlighting four key issues concerning Castiglione. This was the essence of the topics presented last evening by the Castiglione administration to Bruno Tabacci, the deputy elected last May in the Alto Mantovano constituency.
The meeting, scheduled as part of the series of conversations Tabacci — now president of the parliamentary committee on productive activities — has held with all the local officials from his constituency, took place yesterday evening in the town hall council chamber. In the presence of Mayor Arturo Sigurtà and all the assessors, Tabacci listened to the requests from the local administrators.
The discussion also touched on issues such as local healthcare and the hospital, although, of course, Tabacci reiterated that these fall under regional jurisdiction. As mentioned, the Castiglione municipal government presented a document to the deputy summarizing the four most pressing concerns.
Main issues presented
The first concerns the courthouse, which has a branch office located specifically in Castiglione: the request was to urge the Ministry of Justice to strengthen the current staff, which is quite limited.
Secondly, the local government requested intervention regarding the project for the alternative route to Goitese, currently managed by the central Anas headquarters in Rome: granting the Milan decentralised office the authority to proceed directly with the tender (worth 5.4 billion euros for the work) could lead to a faster solution, enabling the construction of the long-sought exit for Castiglione.
Security issues were also on the list: the administration asked for increased deployment of carabinieri, especially in view of the construction of the new barracks. Finally, the focus was on the need for an expansion of the Gonzaga Lyceum, which currently hosts sections for Scientific, Classical, and the Technical Commercial Institute.
Tabacci will investigate the possibility of securing this expansion through the Ministry of Letizia Moratti.
