Castiglione Water Treatment Firms Partner for Environmental Protection Initiatives
An important meeting took place in recent days in Castiglione delle Stiviere between two companies responsible for water treatment and environmental protection: l’INT.DEP.CAST srl (Depuration Intervention in Castiglione) and l’Azienda Speciale Garda Uno, the municipal company serving the Garda area.
The respective Presidents, Nunzio Belluzzi for l’INT.DEP.CAST and Guido Maruelli for Garda Uno, were present along with their general directors, Mr. Franco Richetti and Mr. Mauro Morandi.
Exceptional witnesses included Mayor Arturo Sigurtà and the Environment Councillor of Castiglione Giuseppe D’Ambrosio, who officially signed the memorandum of understanding for the management coordination of public services related to the environment.
Essentially, the two entities have initiated a form of cooperation involving both companies, which are engaged in managing their respective services in the Garda Bresciano and Alto Mantovano areas.
Goals and activities of the cooperation
The primary goal is to finalize the overall organization and coordination of services to optimize delivery and improve the quality of life, environmental protection, and human health.
The promotion of initiatives aimed at raising awareness among users about rational resource use will be encouraged, with particular attention to the need for constant maintenance of internal water systems.
Special focus will also be given to the use of environmental water resources, as well as to waste recovery and reduction strategies.
Projects and future developments
Among upcoming initiatives, the two companies, through their agreement, will promote the implementation of dual piping networks for residential, commercial, and industrial settlements, the use of treated wastewater, and the recovery of materials and energy from waste.
In accordance with their roles, the entities will respect the recent provisions established by the Ronchi and Galli Laws.
From the memorandum of understanding, the assignment of services to the companies will not be determined by the municipalities within the territorial associative structures Garda Uno and l’INT.DEP.CAST, preserving the autonomy of local communities.
The collaboration initiated with this agreement is not limited to general consulting activities but also includes optimization of vegetation disposal, residual sludge from their respective treatment plants, as well as the dry fraction of urban solid waste, cogeneration, study and design activities, and promotional and awareness activities.
