The Antica Fiera di Cavalcaselle, the traditional fair of Cavalcaselle, a hamlet of Castelnuovo del Garda, runs from 13 to 16 November 2026. Four days of history, food and wine, music and entertainment for all ages are on the programme.
The fair is organised by the Pro loco, the local volunteer association that promotes the town, together with the town council. It is rooted in the rural traditions of the area, in the same places where shepherds once stopped during the seasonal movement of livestock, waiting to ferry their animals across the Mincio river.
Mayor Davide Sandrini calls it “an important event for our community”. Pro loco president Gianluca Gianola describes a fair that belongs to the community and is renewed every year thanks to its volunteers.
Friday 13 November 2026: opening, briscola and live music
The programme opens at 10:00 with the ribbon cutting on San Lorenzo hill, together with pupils from the hamlet’s school. From 20:00 there is the traditional briscola card tournament at Bar Civico 56, and the Susanna Pepe Band plays in Cavalcaselle’s main square.
Saturday 14 November 2026: children’s park and spit-roast dinner
From 10:00 to 12:30 and from 13:30 to 17:30, Leggendarea – Avventura 2026 takes place: a themed park for children near the war memorial.
At 20:00 dinner is served at the parish centre in Via Fiera, with spit-roasted meat (spiedo) and “el bifido”. The spiedo menu costs €35, and booking is by phone. At 20:45 the Tex Band plays, followed at 22:45 by DJ Marco Postal.
Sunday 15 November 2026: fun run, market and show
The day starts with the 54th Stracada de la Fiera, a non-competitive fun run starting at 08:00 from the sports facilities in Cavalcaselle.
From 09:00 the traditional market and the food and wine stands open on San Lorenzo hill, along with the “battesimo della sella” (saddle baptism). From 14:00 there is entertainment for children. The evening closes at 20:00 in Cavalcaselle’s square with a show by the Broadway Express.
Monday 16 November 2026: historic bivouacs and Mass
From 08:00 the historic bivouacs return to the Monte della Fiera. Mass is celebrated at 09:30 in the church of the Madonna degli Angeli. From 09:00 the market, the stands and the saddle baptism reopen on San Lorenzo hill, and from 14:00 the programme continues with entertainment for the youngest visitors.
