In Cavriana, on July 26th, the International Archaeological Cinema Review 2025 will take place, a highly anticipated cultural event set to unfold in Piazza Castello. Organized by the Archaeological Museum of Alto Mantovano and PetraFILM, the event will feature a series of screenings dedicated to distant cultures and stories that resonate with human emotions. The event will kick off in the afternoon with six screenings starting at 4 PM and will continue in the evening from 8:30 PM, with various directors in attendance, including Federico Basso and Niccolò Bongiorno. Admission is free, and attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy local delicacies during the intermission.
This edition of the festival will be dedicated to Giuseppe Orefici, a renowned Brescia archaeologist who recently passed away. Among the films presented, “Labyrinths in the Sand” stands out, a docu-film about his excavations in Peru. The nine screenings will include works by various authors, offering a rich and diverse program for all archaeology cinema enthusiasts. At the end of the review, there will be a meeting with the directors and an award for the audience’s favorite film.
