The International Archaeological Cinema Review 2025 will take place in Cavriana on July 26, featuring screenings dedicated to distant yet evocative cultures and stories. The event, organized by the Archaeological Museum of Alto Mantovano in collaboration with PetraFILM, will be held at Piazza Castello n. 5 and will include a series of screenings from the afternoon into the evening, starting at 4 PM and running until 11 PM. Among the filmmakers in attendance will be well-known names such as Federico Basso, Niccolò Bongiorno, and Massimo D’Alessandro, who will present high-quality works. Admission is free, and during the event, a tasting of local traditional products will be offered.
This edition of the festival is dedicated to Giuseppe Orefici, a renowned archaeologist from Brescia who recently passed away. The review will feature a total of nine screenings, including “L’uomo di Val Rosna” by Stefano Zampini and “I leoni di Lissa” by Niccolò Bongiorno. At the end of the evening, there will be a discussion with the filmmakers and the awarding of the best film as chosen by the audience, making this cultural event an important opportunity to explore the world of archaeology through cinema.
