Cavriana will host the International Archaeological Cinema Festival 2025, a culturally significant event that will take place on Saturday, July 26, in Piazza Castello. The event, organized by the Archaeological Museum of Alto Mantovano and PetraFILM, features a series of screenings dedicated to cultures and stories that are distant in time and space, yet close in emotions. Throughout the afternoon and evening, nine films will be presented, with participation from directors such as Federico Basso, Niccolò Bongiorno, and Massimo D’Alessandro. Admission is free, and there will also be tastings of local typical products.
This edition of the festival is dedicated to Giuseppe Orefici, a renowned archaeologist from Brescia who recently passed away. Among the screenings, “Labyrinths in the Sand” stands out, a docu-film about the excavations carried out by Orefici in Peru. The audience will have the opportunity to interact with the directors during a face-to-face session scheduled for 11 PM, culminating in the awarding of the audience’s favorite film.
