Charity Concert with Maestro Accardo Supports Brescia Children’s Hospital
Music on the Children’s Side. The traditional spring event with Maestro Salvatore Accardo and the Italian Chamber Orchestra this year connects to an important initiative to build a children’s hospital in Mompiano.
The Foundation, which will donate the building to the people of Brescia without using public funds, will receive all proceeds from the concert that Accardo and his orchestra will perform on May 5th at 9 PM in the renovated conference palace.
The minimum donation to attend is 50,000 lire.
Protagonists of the Event
There are three main protagonists in this operation. First the Termes, which wanted to link the event’s high artistic level with a meaningful charitable goal.
The Termes, with the Catullo and Virgilio establishments, and the three-star hotels, are the largest private thermal enterprise in the country, attracting 40,000 visitors annually and providing one million treatments thanks to their precious sulphurous, saline-bromoiodic water.
Then the Children’s Hospital Foundation, founded in 1998, which has succeeded in realizing its dream of a dedicated place for the care of the youngest, suitable not only for technological needs but also for humane considerations, where patients’ lives can continue as normally as possible, with parents accommodated in a building next door.
Finally, the renowned musician Salvatore Accardo, who in his roles as both soloist and conductor, will present the charity concert program. It includes two classics: Divertimento in D Major K 136 by Mozart and Serenade op.48 in C Major by Tchaikovsky, plus three tango pieces by Astor Piazzolla transcribed for violins and strings by Accardo himself with Francesco Fiore.
