Chiara Carloni Becomes First Woman President of Fraglia Vela Riva

Chiara Carloni has been elected president of Fraglia Vela Riva during the assembly held on April 11 in Riva. The new board will manage the club’s activities for the next four years, with existing members Paolo Benini Floriani, Gianfranco Busana, Carlo Demurtas, Matteo Grossi, Paolo Matteotti, and Nicola Zanoni confirmed, along with new members Laura Branz, Ciro Giampiero Mercurio, and Carloni herself, who received 136 votes.

In the first meeting following the election, Carloni was elected the club’s first female president. An engineer and longtime member, she succeeds Andrea Camin, who led the club since 2022. Fraglia Vela Riva, recognized internationally and known for youth programs, was also awarded the World Sailing Development Award.
