In Castiglione delle Stiviere, nestled in the hinterland of Lago di Garda, the Christmas spirit comes alive with a rich calendar of holiday events and initiatives designed for the 2025-2026 festive season. The program, curated by the local Administration, aims to celebrate local traditions and provide moments of gathering and enjoyment for all ages, transforming the city into a vibrant hub of festivity and culture. The Heart of the Festivities: Key Dates and Locations The celebrations will kick off on December 3 and run until January 6, 2026. A distinctive feature is the ice skating rink at Piazzale Tozza, already in operation and available for residents and visitors until January 11. The event lineup offers a wide range of activities, from creative workshops to performances, from markets to artistic and musical exhibitions that will accompany the entire period. Entertainment and Tradition for Everyone Youngsters will have the opportunity to participate in various playful and creative activities. The Sigurtà library will host a workshop titled “An Extraordinary Flower Pot,” while the Gallery of Palazzo Menghini will offer an initiative for creating Christmas lanterns, designed to immerse children in the festive spirit. On Sunday, December 7, Piazza San Luigi will become the focal point of activities with the traditional “Christmas Solidarity Market,” featuring participation from local associations, alongside the “Market of Used Toys and Books” organized by the schools of Castiglione delle Stiviere. The streets and squares will be animated by a parade of Santa Clauses on motorcycles, the roaming show of “Luminous Butterflies,” and Santa’s sleigh. Traditional flavors will abound, with the Alpini Group offering mulled wine and roasted chestnuts, accompanied by music and choral singing. A particularly evocative event will be the Living Nativity Scene, set up at the Castle, recreating an authentic village animated by numerous performers. It will be open to the public on December 26, January 1, and January 6. Music, Art, and Shows The artistic program includes significant events. On Monday, December 8, the Basilica of San Luigi will host a concert by the Junior Orchestra of the Cultural Musical Association. Families are invited to the Teatro Sociale on Sunday, December 21, to enjoy the show “Granny and the Wolf,” curated by Danilo Conti from Accademia Perduta. The cultural offerings are further enriched by the exhibition “Ugo Celada – Between War and Peace / 1943 – 1947” at Palazzo Menghini, running until February 22. Additionally, from December 13 to 31, the Mons. Don Rinaldo Dalboni Hall will host the exhibition “The Magic of the Nativity… a Dream of Peace,” curated by the Philatelic & Numismatic Circle.
