Cinema in Rocca Begins June 30 with De Niro Film at Lonato Castle

The opening and program of Cinema in the Rocca will take place on Saturday, June 30th, with a free screening of the film “I Confess” starring Robert De Niro, marking the third edition of “Cinema in Rocca”. A lineup of highly regarded films will run over 35 evenings until August 26th at the magnificent Visconti Castle in Lonato. The event is organized by the Parish Youth Center in collaboration with the Ugo da Como Foundation and the Municipality of Lonato.

This year, unlike the previous edition, in case of bad weather, screenings will be shifted to the Cinema Italia in via Antiche Mura. Ticket prices? Quite affordable: 8,000 lira for adults and 5,000 for reduced fares. “We are more than satisfied,” explains Pierluigi Amadei, the treasurer of the local youth group, “with the participation results achieved last year, despite somewhat unfavorable weather conditions.

The scenery of the Rocca remains spectacular, the audio-visual system available is of high quality, and the selected titles cover various genres. Success is expected… at least, that’s what we hope.” Naturally, some credit also goes to the volunteers who will ensure screenings, refreshments, and ticket sales.

Among the titles scheduled are acclaimed films that have enjoyed box office success: “Hidden Truths“, “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon“, “The Son’s Room“, “Finding Forrester“, “The Mummy – The Return“, etc. Additionally, attendees will have the opportunity for a nighttime visit to the Rocca and the Ornithological Museum. All screenings will start at 9 p.m.
