A new project called “Share the Good” has been launched on Lake Garda thanks to the collaboration between Federalberghi and Caritas Garda-Verona. This initiative aims to recover food surpluses generated by tourism and donate them to those in need, thereby contributing to a model of circular economy. The accommodation facilities associated with Federalberghi can bring leftover food to the Emporio 12 Ceste, located in the courtyard of the parish in Garda, or arrange for pickups for smaller quantities. The project targets low-income families in the surrounding municipalities such as Lazise, Bardolino, and Torri del Benaco.
Mattia Boschelli, director of Federalberghi Garda Veneto, emphasized the importance of the tourism sector’s commitment to the local community, while Don Pierpaolo Battistoli from Caritas highlighted how charity can unite and strengthen the social fabric. Among the project’s goals are economic benefits for businesses through reduced disposal costs and advantages outlined in the Gadda Law. Additionally, an annual award will be given to the tourism enterprise that stands out the most for its social and environmental responsibility.
