The Cittadella dell’accoglienza has been officially inaugurated in Riva del Garda, an innovative and sustainable center dedicated to the care of the elderly and vulnerable individuals. This project, initiated over ten years ago, has transformed the area of the former civil hospital into a cutting-edge socio-healthcare hub, with an investment of approximately 14.7 million euros made possible through collaboration between local authorities and the Autonomous Province of Trento. The new facility, compliant with the environmental standards of the LEED protocol, includes a residential care facility (RSA) with 100 accredited beds, a day center with 20 places, and various services to support families. During the inauguration, attended by authorities and citizens, the President of the Province, Maurizio Fugatti, described the Cittadella as “a state-of-the-art intermediate care hub,” expressing gratitude towards the social and healthcare staff. Councillor Mario Tonina emphasized the importance of home support services and announced future investments in the sector. Mayor Alessio Zanoni highlighted how the Cittadella addresses the needs of an evolving society and plays a crucial role in caring for fragile individuals. The day concluded with musical moments and a blessing of the facility, also celebrating the historical contribution of local associations in the care of the elderly in Riva del Garda.
