City Council to Approve 2001 Budget and Public Works Plans

The City Council meeting will be held on Monday, February 12th at 8:30 PM for the approval of the 2001 budget forecast. The three-year plan for public works will be presented by Councillor Sereni.

Among the agenda items are the determination of costs and tariffs for services on individual demand, the 2001 budget and the 2001-2003 three-year plan, as well as amendments to the regulations on the Imposta Comunale sugli Immobili (ICI) and waste tax.

The mayor will announce the appointment of the new councillor Roberto Moratti, who will oversee ecology, productive activities, computerization, and organization of municipal offices.

Proposals and municipal resolutions

Likewise, Sigurtà will report on measures related to granting the title of “city” to Castiglione, and on two withdrawals from the reserve fund dating back to last December.

On Monday, the council will also discuss the library, including the renewal of the agreement among the nine municipalities of the Morenic Arc for the joint management of the “Alto Mantovano” Library System until December 2005, as proposed by the Cultural Department head, Giuseppe Bertoli.

Interventions on urban planning and public works

Significant and numerous topics will be addressed by the Urban Planning Councillor, Pier Mario Azzoni. First, the quantity and quality of areas designated for residential, productive, and tertiary purposes will be assessed, with sale prices determined accordingly.

Additionally, some land development projects will be discussed: the second phase for the expansion of La Nuova Prefabbricati in via Fossadone, and the first phase for the industrial area available to CM in via Solferino and the ex Venturelli land in via Carpenedolo.

Furthermore, an agreement between the municipality and the company Rudiana will be approved for the construction of the highly anticipated Carabinieri station.

Projects for social services and infrastructure

Finally, Councillors Biaggi and Tagliani will outline the council’s directives for a new retirement home and an indoor swimming pool, another project that has been discussed for years.
