City Plans Safety Measures to Prevent New Year Vandalism
Whether stupidity is caused by excessive celebrations or is congenital, it hardly matters. The risk is always the same: causing damage.
So, having acknowledged the success of the “Midnight Fairy Tale,” and recognizing that it can attract many tourists and meet the expectations of different age groups, precautions must be taken to prevent Piazza Catena, Piazza Tre Novembre, and the access roads from being reduced again next year to battlegrounds by the usual idiots.
Proposals for safety and prevention
This is a necessity also shared by the mayor, Cesare Malossini, who is already thinking about countermeasures to “disarm” the New Year’s vandals.
“We will ensure that this disgrace does not happen again,” confirms Malossini. “Perhaps, just as an example, with an ordinance that bans carrying glass bottles in the square on that night. There are many options, and we will consider them all.”
Regarding vandals, two trash bins were set on fire again this year: one near the Rocca and another in San Giorgio, close to the church.
