Last Wednesday, in the hamlet of Biacesa within the municipality of Ledro, a significant commemoration of the fallen members of the Guardia di Finanza took place to mark the 109th anniversary of the sacrifice of 300 young soldiers during the Great War. The ceremony was attended by the Regional Commander of Trentino Alto Adige for the Guardia di Finanza, Gen. B. Gavino Putzu, along with the Deputy Government Commissioner, Dr. Massimo Di Donato, and Mayor Claudio Oliari, as well as representatives from the Armed Forces and local veterans’ associations.
The event began with a religious service at the local parish church and concluded with the raising of the flag and the laying of a laurel wreath at the commemorative plaque. This solemn moment paid tribute to the finance officers who, between 1915 and 1916, were involved in crucial military operations in the Val di Ledro, highlighting the historical and human significance of their actions in defending Italian territory.
