Community-Led Initiative Supports Vulnerable Groups in Cornuda

Start of the Agreement and Participants

On the beginning of June 1996, a convention was held in the hall of the Casa Sociale of Cornuda to sign a project supporting the most vulnerable social groups. Some representatives of local political and social forces participated in the event, including the mayor, representatives of the neighborhood association and various volunteer organizations.

Objectives and Funding

The project, which will last two years, aims particularly to improve the living conditions of the elderly and disabled residents within the municipality. The total amount allocated for the initiative is approximately one hundred thousand euros, funded with regional and European Union funds.

Activities and Expected Goals

The activities include home assistance services, psychological support, training and socialization courses for the categories most in need. Social transportation will also be enhanced, and listening and gathering centers will be established.

The project aims to promote social inclusion and improve the quality of life of the involved people, also creating moments of meeting and solidarity among citizens.

Role of Institutions and Associations

The municipal administration has committed to supporting the initiatives, ensuring surveillance and coordination services among the various involved components.
