Comunità del Baldo Explores Phytoremediation Feasibility in Veneto Sites
Some representatives of the Comunità del Baldo have conducted visits to the phytoremediation plants in Veneto with the goal of commissioning a study to assess the feasibility of implementing these systems in Baldo locations, such as Prada, Lumini, San Michele di Malcesine.
The sites visited, aside from small private facilities like the agricultural school in Vittorio Veneto, mainly included public systems for domestic wastewater in Lutrano di Fontanelle, in the province of Treviso, between Oderzo and Conegliano, and the one in Villanova at Borca di Cadore (Belluno), near Cortina.
In the province of Treviso, investment in phytoremediation has been ongoing for several years: there are over a hundred public and private systems of varying sizes, while in the province of Belluno, there are two well-functioning municipal plants.
Results of the visits and comments
“The outcome of the visit was satisfactory,” explained geologist Cristiano Mastella, who organized the visits.
