Daniele Dorizzi, a kidney transplant recipient and president of the running group Le Sgalmare di Cola, has won a bronze medal in darts at the twenty-fifth edition of the World Transplant Games, taking place in Dresden until August 24. The competition featured organ transplant athletes from 51 countries, with a total of 59 representatives from Italy. This achievement is not new for Dorizzi, who has previously won gold and silver medals in earlier editions.
Daniele’s success has been met with enthusiasm from the community of Lazise, where friends and supporters, including members of the Aido association for which he is a spokesperson, have expressed their congratulations. Mayor Damiano Bergamini also highlighted the significance of his achievement for the local community. Dorizzi’s athletic and personal journey serves as an inspiring example, showcasing his remarkable physical and moral recovery following the transplant he underwent years ago at the hospital in Borgo, Verona. Upon his return home, he will be greeted with grand celebrations for this well-deserved recognition.
