An important act of solidarity took place in Desenzano del Garda, where the Cuore Amico del Garda Association donated a defibrillator to the ANFFAS onlus Foundation. The handover ceremony was attended by President Dr. Vigilio Ziacchi and Alessandro Pitigliani, President of the “I Gnari de Colatera” association. This life-saving device marks a significant step in the association’s commitment to promoting the teaching of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) techniques and the use of defibrillators (AEDs), with the aim of preventing cardiovascular diseases.
In recent years, Cuore Amico del Garda has equipped numerous local entities, including law enforcement and schools, with defibrillators. High schools in the area have been outfitted with AEDs for over a decade, while hundreds of people are trained annually in the use of defibrillators and resuscitation techniques thanks to approximately 20 instructors certified by the IRC Community. Sudden cardiac arrest poses a serious health emergency in Europe, making prompt intervention and adequate training essential for saving lives.
