Desenzano 2001 Calendar Highlights Town Life and Charity Efforts
A tavern calendar. It may seem strange that in Desenzano there are still people who frequent the tavern. Perhaps it is even more unusual that it still exists, given the onslaught of fast food. The gathering of people for exchanging comments, opinions, and jokes still takes place, solely for the pleasure of meeting in a peaceful environment, with a clear glass of white wine in hand. It is likely that it was precisely a sober young man with a white shirt who sparked a different, not at all trivial, event.
Discussing the usual calendars filled with starlets, some patrons, thanks to a skilled photographer, created the Desenzano 2001 calendar: images of the town today and of the patrons of the taverns in Piazzetta, via Castello, and Piazza Garibaldi. Desenzano 2001 illuminates corners of the town with renewed vitality, corners we pass every day but often overlook because our eyes look beyond.
Testimony of Life and Charity
But these corners have always been there, observing all passes and offering opportunities to witness life. They are still there today, trying and provoking a full memory of life’s richness.
The beautiful photos of the calendar are by Robertino Tommasi, the song snippets that accompany them are by master Giorgio Tommasi, and the dialect captions are by Righù. All proceeds from the sale of the calendar have been donated to charity, specifically to Unffas.
