Desenzano and Salò Prepare to Mark 80 Years of Women’s Voting Rights in 2026 with Celebrations by Soroptimist, Lions, and Inner Wheel

The “1946–2026 | 80 Years of Women’s Voting” event, organized by Soroptimist Club Garda Sud in collaboration with local Soroptimist clubs, Lions New Voices, and Inner Wheel Salò and Desenzano del Garda, will take place in Desenzano and Salò in 2026. The initiative commemorates the first time women voted in 1946 and highlights the election of 21 women to the Constituent Assembly.

The event will be moderated by Professor Mariasole Bannò and features constitutional law expert Francesca Parmigiani as a speaker. It will conclude with a networking apericena hosted by the organizers and is supported by local municipalities and the Brescia Equal Opportunities Commission.
