A training project titled “Feeding Sustainable Living” has been launched to raise awareness among students in the Garda area of Desenzano, Lonato, and Salò about the issues related to food waste, a topic of growing importance in the agro-food sector and at home. Organized by the “Morene del Garda” school network and sponsored by the Municipality of Desenzano, the series of conferences began on March 13 at the “Fermi” high school in Salò with a presentation by Dr. Claudio Luisi from the Banco Alimentare Lombardia, who discussed the dynamics of waste production. The meetings continue at the “Bazoli-Polo” in Desenzano, where food poverty in Italy was addressed by Professor Ilaria Pertot from the University of Trento.
The conferences will continue on March 28 with Hon. Maria Chiara Gadda, who will discuss the “anti-waste” legislation, while additional events are scheduled for May 9, focusing on modern challenges in agriculture and animal husbandry related to new food productions. This initiative represents a significant educational opportunity for young people, aimed at promoting a sustainable lifestyle through changes in daily habits.
