Desenzano Book Fair Promotes Reading and Cultural Exchange

The municipal administration of Desenzano del Garda and Mayor Felice Anelli will inaugurate today and tomorrow the “Book Fair,” an event organized by the local Library to promote reading, meetings, and cultural exchanges.

This inaugural exhibition will be held at the Palazzo del Turismo and in the adjacent Piazza Malvezzi: a series of publishers will display some works in the town center, and simultaneously, debates and readings will take place in the halls of the Palazzo dei Congressi.

Some publishers such as the “Editoriale del Garda” and “Zanetti editore”, along with bookstores like the “Demetra” and “Castelli Podavini”, have decided to accept, together with some magazines such as “Stile”, “Dipende”, and “Prospettive del nostro tempo”, the invitation extended by the Culture Councillor Emanuele Giustacchini.

This invitation encourages publishers to meet with readers to try to keep interest in books alive.

Event Program

The event opens at 10 a.m. with the conference “The Future of Books in the Multimedia Era”; in the afternoon at 4 p.m., there will be a lecture titled “The Art of Investing in Stocks”, followed by a debate at 6 p.m. on “Themes and Styles of Italian Narrative: 1970-2000”.

At 5 p.m. on Sunday, there will be a conference on “The Difference Between Organic, ‘Chemical,’ and Genetically Modified Foods for Health”. At 9 p.m., readings will take place around the theme “The Poetic Word”.
