Desenzano Celebrates Saint Angela Merici with Events and Mass

Faith and culture to celebrate San’Angela Merici, patroness of Desenzano. A schedule of events, started yesterday and curated by the parish of the Duomo together with the Public Education Department of the Municipality.

Yesterday evening’s events

The first event took place last night at the Paolo VI theater, with: Renata Lollo, a literature teacher for children, who presented “Letter to the Children” in collaboration with the Stefano Bazoli Cultural Center.

Feast day of the saint and today’s activities

Today, the actual feast day of the saint, since 1962 patroness of the city and founder of the Company of Saint Ursula in 1535, it is remembered that Saint Angela died on January 27, 1540 in Brescia, and was canonized on May 24, 1807.

Also today, at 3:30 PM and again at the Paolo VI theater, there is scheduled the performance of “Www.prof.it,” a show by the “Alcuni” group of the Teatro Ragazzi di Treviso designed for elementary school children.

Religious celebration and evening appointments

At 6:00 PM, at the Duomo, there will be a concelebration of the mass by all priests who have served in Desenzano, with the participation of Bishop Emeritus of Brescia Bruno Foresti.

At the end of the mass, at 7:30 PM, everyone will go to the Riviera Hotel: parishioners and priests will gather at the table for a somewhat secular continuation of the celebration.
