Desenzano Hospital: citizens demand transparency and clarity
A gazebo set up in Desenzano del Garda saw the collection of 327 signatures in just three hours, an initiative promoted by the “Let’s Keep Desenzano Hospital” Committee to demand greater hospital transparency regarding the role of the Polytechnic University of Milan in the future of the local hospital. Concerned citizens, worried about decisions that will impact their health and community, signed a letter addressed to ASST Garda, asking for clarity on any alternative areas that the university might consider for the construction of the new hospital. The committee had already sent a certified email on November 18 without receiving a response and recently reiterated its position with a twelfth communication to the President of Area 11, Dr. Lavelli. “While the community demonstrates responsibility and engagement,” committee members stated, “the institutions continue to maintain a grave and unacceptable silence.” The mobilization of citizens highlights a strong desire for involvement in decisions affecting the healthcare services in the area.
