In Desenzano del Garda, the municipality has decided to strengthen security measures in public places, particularly in the Laghetto – Oriana Fallaci park and at the port. These areas have recently been the scene of numerous incidents of petty crime, including thefts and acts of vandalism. To counter this wave of lawlessness, the local administration has hired a security company that will patrol the areas twice every night for a year. This intervention is accompanied by the installation of new cameras and lights to improve surveillance.
The initiative, a result of collaboration between Mayor Guido Malinverno and Security Assessor Pietro Avanzi, aims to provide concrete support to the local police, who cannot be present everywhere simultaneously. The project involves night inspections at variable times to avoid predictability and will be evaluated after a year to decide whether to extend it to other areas of the city. With an initial investment of ten thousand euros, the municipality hopes to restore the necessary tranquility for citizens to enjoy these symbolic places in peace.
