Desenzano: viaduct under renovation until 2027, changes to traffic announced. The renovation works for the city viaduct, initiated by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI), are currently being updated with a specific timeline, as announced by the Municipality of Desenzano. This project, which will extend until 2027, aims not only to enhance the railway infrastructure but also to maintain the balance of urban traffic. The renovation includes structural and seismic consolidation of the structure while preserving its historical and architectural value. Following the installation of scaffolding and the restoration of the pillars, a new phase of work is set to commence.
To manage the impact of these interventions on road circulation, the Municipality has issued a Director’s Ordinance that establishes traffic modifications valid until December 31, 2027. A one-way traffic system will be implemented on Via Bezzecca, directing traffic from the roundabout at Via Caduti dei Lager towards Via Mezzocolle, with a speed limit set at 30 km/h. A similar one-way system will be established on Via Custoza, directing traffic from Via Mezzocolle towards Via Marconi, with a no-parking rule and a mandatory right turn at the intersection with Via Marconi. These measures will remain in effect throughout the duration of the works and may be subject to further changes in the coming months, particularly regarding the pillars on Via Marconi that are yet to be renovated.
