Desenzano’s ‘Acque Chiare’ Launches to Promote Garda Culture and Community
Even if a bit later than the expected and planned timeline announced by their members, the debut moment has finally arrived: Saturday, November 10th, at 5:30 PM, at the Tourism Hall of Desenzano (Palazzo Todeschini), the newly formed “Acque Chiare” Cultural Association intends to present itself to the city to illustrate the guiding principles that inspired the drafting of its operational program.
Book Launch and Association Goals
The occasion will be the presentation of the book “Visti sul Garda”, by Tullio Ferro and Laura Ferro Francesconi. “Visti sul Garda”, by describing itineraries and episodes involving famous personalities who, captivated by the discreet and irresistible charm of Lake Garda, landed on its shores, aims to underline the fundamental role of Lake Garda itself.
Thus, Garda is not only described as an incomparable and emotionally stirring natural environment but also as a cultural crossroads of European civilization, becoming a privileged meeting point for poets, writers, artists, and scholars: [in short, a cradle of culture for Benaco.]
And the Board of Directors of the “Acque Chiare” association saw the presentation of “Visti sul Garda” as the most suitable occasion to publicly announce its goals and to immediately emphasize the centrality of the Desenzano-culture duo within its operational program.
Goals and Values of the Association
“Acque Chiare,” in fact, is a non-profit cultural association that, inspired by Catholic and secular liberal democratic principles, aims to rediscover, promote, and valorize the numerous realities and resources of Garda’s capital, seeking to provide proposals and solutions to the requests coming from the citizens of Desenzano.
The Cultural Association (officially established on June 11, 2001) counts among its members young people and adults engaged in various sectors of professional, working, cultural, and voluntary activities, thus representing the diverse elements of the local community.
The choice of the name is no coincidence: the “Acque Chiare” duo, on one hand, reveals a deep and inseparable bond with the lake community of Garda, and on the other, highlights the intention to relate in a tangible and transparent manner with all local institutions, citizens, and especially with young people.
The hope with which “Acque Chiare” begins this journey is that, step by step, or rather, “drop by drop”, with the contribution of its members and those who care about the development of an authentic “civil society” in Desenzano, it can become a valuable point of reference to promote and disseminate “opinions” as appropriate and convincing responses to the needs and expectations of its community.
