Double Quake Hits Lake Garda Overnight: 2.0 Magnitude Tremor Near Soiano

Two light earthquakes were recorded overnight between August 5 and 6 in the lower Garda area, with the epicenter in the municipality of Soiano del Lago. The Italian National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV) measured a local magnitude of 2.0 at a depth of about 11 kilometers.

The tremors were registered at 2:53 and 4:53. They were felt by some residents in parts of the Valtènesi, with reports also coming from Moniga and Polpenazze, but the low intensity caused no significant effects and no damage has been reported.
