An episode of drug dealing has shaken the community of Desenzano del Garda, where the cemetery caretaker has been arrested by the police. The man, a 30-year-old already known to law enforcement, was caught in the act while hiding 26 doses of cocaine in the storage area of the facility and among the graves. Officers from the local police station, who had been monitoring the investigation for some time, also discovered a sum of cash at his residence.
The authorities acted swiftly to put an end to the illicit activity taking place in such a symbolic and respected location as the cemetery. The caretaker is now in custody awaiting legal proceedings, while investigations continue to identify any accomplices and gather further details about the drug operation that occurred in the area.
