In recent days, the Local Police of Alto Garda and Ledro has issued a warning regarding email scams targeting local residents. Many citizens have reported receiving fraudulent messages that appear to be sent by PagoPA, demanding immediate payment of fines. Some of these messages also contain false references to the Municipality of Milan, attempting to deceive users into believing they are official communications. Authorities emphasize that notifications regarding fines are never sent via regular email but exclusively through Certified Electronic Mail (PEC) or other official channels.
The Police recommend that citizens pay close attention to the sender’s email address and always verify the authenticity of received communications. It is important to remember that administrative fines do not expire within 24 hours nor do they suddenly increase; typically, citizens have 60 days to make a payment without incurring additional charges. Furthermore, it is crucial not to click on links contained in suspicious emails to avoid risks related to online security. In case of doubt, law enforcement urges individuals to contact the relevant authorities directly to clarify any possible misunderstandings before taking impulsive action.
