Two tourists were rescued by the Coast Guard after their jet ski began to sink approximately one nautical mile from the shore. The alert was raised around 9:00 AM via the emergency number 112 by the jet ski operator, who reported being in the water with his companion. Immediately, two Coast Guard units, the Patrol Boat CP 605 and the Patrol Boat CP 703, were dispatched to reach the castaways.
The Patrol Boat CP 605, already on patrol in the area, arrived quickly on the scene and retrieved the two tourists, providing the necessary first aid. After reassuring them and thanking them for their prompt action, the rescuers brought them back to shore in Padenghe without any further medical needs. During the operation, the jet ski that was about to sink was also recovered. The Coast Guard emphasized the importance of always having a mobile phone with data service during nautical activities and reiterated that jet skis are not permitted to navigate more than one mile from the shore for safety reasons.
