Enhancing Cultural Heritage: The Caproni Case in Arco

On Thursday, October 16th, a press conference was held in Arco to present initiatives aimed at enhancing the cultural heritage related to Gianni Caproni, a pioneer of aviation in Trentino. The event, promoted by provincial councilor Francesca Gerosa, was attended by local authorities and members of the Caproni family. Among the projects discussed were the digitization of the Caproni Collection, funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), and the restoration of the Ansaldo A.1 ‘Balilla’ airplane, emphasizing the importance of keeping alive and accessible the memory of a man who significantly influenced aviation history. Councilor Gerosa highlighted that these actions represent a significant step in preserving and promoting Caproni’s extraordinary legacy. The mayor of Arco, Arianna Fiorio, underscored the economic and cultural contributions that Caproni brought to the region, also expressing hope for the future use of Villa Angerer as a cultural hub dedicated to him and the artist Segantini. These initiatives aim not only to honor the past but also to engage new generations in discovering the historical roots of Italian aviation. Italian Version
