Eurocongressi Hotel Highlights Innovation in Hospitality and Conference Technology

The modern hotel, fashionable holiday village, and advanced congress center are facilities designed to recreate standards of well-being and “comfort” in order to regenerate and recover from more or less stressful conditions for those who arrive there. These structures must, even at the design stage, convey a strong appeal and satisfaction, aiming to create emotional states and suggestive conditions. These rules were highlighted in the opening conference of the seminar that accompanied Forum 2000, an event dedicated to equipment and technologies for hotels and conference facilities.

Relationship and Topics Covered

Introductory remarks by Marco Piva, founder of Studiodata Associati, one of the most renowned firms internationally in design and architecture, who focused on “project as a method” and particularly on the traditional Italian approach that considers total quality through a dialogue process among “functions, emotions, memory, and well-being” to stimulate travelers.

The showcase of the three-day study event could only be the host Eurocongressi Hotel of Wonderful, one of the most advanced and qualified training companies operating in Italy. The complex in Cavaion reflects a dual reality, primarily representing a corporate choice targeting business clients.

However, located behind Lake Garda, the hotel becomes a destination for international tourism during the summer months. It is a center that combines features of a four-star hotel with a functional conference area, offering warmth and practicality through its material choices and architectural style.

Opinions and Interventions

“An excellent reference point for all Garda tourism operators,” highlighted Giuseppe Lorenzini, president of the Garda Veronese Hoteliers Union, during the press conference.

“But also an important moment for knowledge and discussion with contract companies, which demonstrated, in the realization of the Eurocongressi Hotel, being at the forefront of construction, control, and safety technologies.”

The intervention by the mayor of Cavaion was provocative, taking the opportunity of Forum 2000 to criticize the new regional law on commercial structures, which in particular penalizes inland municipalities on Garda.

“Instead of focusing on the quality of structures like ours, the Region,” emphasized Giancarlo Sabaini, “remains fixed on the number of beds. At this point, as administrators of the so-called B-series municipalities, we have no choice but to seek a used lager, to reach the 1,500 beds imposed by the new regulations for designated tourist municipalities.”

The Hotel and Conference Sector

The highlight of the three days was the Forum dedicated to equipment and technologies for the hotel and conference sector, set up in the large multifunctional hall, divided into about thirty stands.

The event was enriched by a series of conferences addressing topical and significant issues: from technical solutions for hotel acoustics (speaker Federico Tedeschi) to energy-saving choices and environmental protection (Paolo Biggi and Marco Pietropoli); from environmental sanitation and water treatment for swimming pools in hospitality facilities (Stefano Campagna and Davide Dameri) to gas-based air conditioning and new advantages in creating environmental comfort (Alberto Lodi and Walter Livraghi).

All under the patronage of the Province of Verona, the Order of Engineers, the Garda Community, the Municipality of Cavaion, Ugav, and Assogardacamping.
