Fake Carabinieri Scammers Target Garda Hoteliers and Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Middle and Upper Garda area, offering subscriptions to military magazines.

They are not actual military personnel, but scammers who occasionally claim to belong to finance, the police, firefighters, or the Comune (Municipality) police.

Recognizing Scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri—simply dial 112— as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by individuals who,

having money, no longer make themselves visible.
