Fake Carabinieri Scammers Target Garda Hoteliers and Retailers

Posing as Carabinieri, they contact hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering magazine subscriptions from the force.

They are not soldiers, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, the fire brigade, or the Comune guards.

How to recognize scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those unrelated to the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri — simply dial 112 — as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who,
