Fake Carabinieri Scams Targeting Garda Businesses: How to Recognize and Respond

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shopkeepers, artisans, and restaurants in Medio and Alto Garda, offering subscriptions to the armed forces’ magazines.

These are not military personnel, but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to finance, police, fire brigade, or the Municipal police.

How to recognize the scams

They often propose subscriptions to nonexistent magazines or those that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.
