Fake Carabinieri Scams Targeting Garda Region Businesses

They impersonate Carabinieri when calling hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Medio and Alto Garda regions, offering subscriptions to magazines of the force.

They are not military personnel but fraudsters who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, the police, fire brigade, or municipal officers.

How to recognize scams and how to react

They often propose subscriptions to fake magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri – just dial 112 – as soon as you suspect being targeted by someone who, after taking the money, disappears.
