Fake Carabinieri Scams Targeting Garda Region Businesses: How to Recognize and Respond

They impersonate Carabinieri when making phone calls to hoteliers, shop owners, artisans, and restaurateurs in the Medio and Alto Garda regions, proposing subscriptions to magazines of the armed forces.

They are not military personnel, but scammers who, from time to time, claim to belong to the finance police, police, firefighters, or municipal guards.

They often propose subscriptions to non-existent magazines or magazines that have nothing to do with the law enforcement.

Therefore, be cautious and immediately notify the real Carabinieri – just dial 112 – as soon as you suspect you have been targeted by someone who, after obtaining the money, disappears.
