A tragic incident occurred today, Friday, June 20, in Gargnano, where a Polish cyclist fell from a cliff over 90 meters high. The lifeless body of the man was recovered by the Coast Guard from the water below after his fellow travelers, also Polish, raised the alarm when he failed to return. The three cyclists were riding along the lakeside when one of them stepped away on foot to enjoy the view.
The search was promptly initiated thanks to the intervention of an ambulance and a coast guard patrol boat. Upon arrival at the scene, rescuers found the cyclist’s body floating without vital signs. After the recovery, the patrol boat returned to the port of Gargnano, where Carabinieri from the Salò Company also arrived to reconstruct the dynamics of the incident, along with the medical personnel from the air ambulance service for necessary checks.
