A tragic incident occurred in Gargnano, where a 43-year-old Polish tourist lost his life after falling from the cliffs of the Gardesana. The tragedy unfolded when the cyclist, having distanced himself from his companions to admire the view, suddenly vanished from sight. His two friends immediately alerted emergency services by calling 118, which activated the search and rescue operations.
The Coast Guard of Salò dispatched a patrol boat to search the waters below the cliff, which rises over 90 meters high. Within minutes, the tourist’s body was spotted in the water, showing no signs of life. Despite the efforts of maritime rescuers and the air rescue team, there was nothing that could be done. The body was recovered and transported to the port of Gargnano, where the Carabinieri initiated an investigation to reconstruct the dynamics of the incident.
