Federalberghi: Ferragosto bookings near 85% in Veneto, could hit 90% if trend holds

Ferragosto sul Garda Veneto is expected to reach hotel occupancy of around 85%, with the potential to climb to 90% thanks to last-minute bookings, according to Federalberghi Garda Veneto. The forecast covers the central week of August and comes as the season is assessed overall as positive.

Federalberghi Garda Veneto president Ivan De Beni said the 85–90% range is broadly in line with recent years, but noted that comparisons with the past are less meaningful due to the growth of accommodation capacity. More beds have been added across the area, alongside stronger outdoor tourism, agritourism, and short-term rentals, while hotels remain the main reference point. De Beni described closing Ferragosto between 85% and 90% as a “very satisfying” result.

The outlook also points to a favorable season, with Federalberghi not ruling out 2026 ending a few percentage points higher than 2025, which was already considered strong. Hot weather does not appear to have reduced hotel reservations, though it may be affecting restaurant trade—particularly lunchtime and the middle of the day. Demand is led by a growing Italian market, while international visitors remain solid, including Germany (especially Bavaria), as well as Northern Europe and the UK.
