Fidapa Desenzano Promotes Women’s Roles in Arts, Professions, Business

With the aim of “promoting, coordinating, and supporting the initiatives of women working in the fields of arts, professions, and business,” the representation for the entire province of Desenzano was established for the Federazione Italiana delle Donne nelle Arti, Professioni e Affari, whose acronym is Fidapa.

The initiative is due to Maria Ida Germontani, a very active and enterprising president of the National Equality Opportunities Commission of An and of the local one in Desenzano. Fidapa also adheres to the International Federation of Business and Professional Women.

Objectives and Activities of Fidapa

“Most of the members who have joined this project are young women, some of whom are already established professionals while others are just beginning to step into the working world,” says the new president Maria Ida Germontani.

Fidapa, which has been part of the National Commission for Equality of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers for a long time, then intends to position itself as a true ‘political lobby’, i.e., a pressure group in favor of women and, in particular, its members, promoting them in public administrations, as well as in public and private companies.

Future Projects and Goals

Fidapa also aims to create an accurate collection of the “curricula” of women engaged in specific professional and artistic activities, to be proposed for appointments in decision-making positions where women are still an exception.
