Recently, the Guardia di Finanza has intensified inspections of accommodation facilities in the area of Desenzano del Garda, revealing a significant number of illegal B&Bs and instances of undeclared work. In the past month, agents have conducted 18 inspections, uncovering tax irregularities that have resulted in the recovery of approximately 250,000 euros in undeclared income. Among the identified violations were unregistered overnight stays and deficiencies in the necessary permits to operate.
Additionally, five workers were found to be completely “under the table,” and one was identified with an irregular contract. Two bed and breakfasts were reported for operating without authorization and lacking a National Identification Code (CIN), while three other establishments faced penalties for failing to display the code. The Guardia di Finanza has announced that it will continue to monitor the sector to ensure compliance among accommodation providers and the proper payment of the tourist tax to the relevant municipalities.
