Pozzolengo was the scene of an emergency this morning, Tuesday, May 12, when a fire forced the evacuation of residents from the local nursing home. The first reports came in during the early hours of the day, when thick smoke began to billow from the attic of the building, where the blaze is believed to have started. The causes of the incident are currently under investigation by the relevant authorities.
In response to the emergency, a large-scale operation was launched on-site, involving at least seven teams of firefighters from Brescia and Mantova, who worked to extinguish the flames and ensure the safety of the area. Meanwhile, several ambulances transported the elderly residents to a nearby municipal building set up as temporary accommodation, paying special attention to those with mobility difficulties. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported, and operations to restore safety in the facility are set to begin in the coming days.
