A significant increase in flu vaccinations has characterized pharmacies in Brescia during the week from October 13 to 18, with nearly eleven thousand residents receiving the vaccine. In total, 10,631 doses were administered, excluding residents of Vallecamonica, with an aggregate total that also includes Valtellina and Alto Lario of approximately 1,350 vaccinations. The busiest day was Tuesday, October 14, when over two thousand doses were administered (specifically, 2,178). In addition to flu vaccines, pharmacies also offered 2,500 Covid vaccines and 600 pneumococcal vaccines, highlighting the commitment of local pharmacies to meet the healthcare needs of the population. Brescia’s pharmacies not only provide flu vaccinations for adults over 18 but are also preparing to include additional vaccines such as those for HPV and diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis in the coming months. Pharmacist Marzia Contenti from the De Michelis pharmacy in Bovezzo recently secured second place among the best vaccinators in Lombardy during an event focused on the health of vulnerable patients. Clara Mottinelli, president of Federfarma Brescia, emphasized how this increase in vaccinations reflects the growing trust of citizens in the healthcare services offered by pharmacies, confirming their role as key reference points in local public health.
